Empowering BIPOC Clinicians: Cultural Humility, Diversity and Inclusion in Play Therapy

This 6-hour training is designed to equip BIPOC clinicians with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to harness their unique "BIPOC superpowers" to support and empower BIPOC clients in the play therapy setting. With a focus on promoting inclusion, diversity, and equity, this interactive and experiential workshop explores the intersection of cultural diversity and play therapy, emphasizing culturally responsive and affirming practices. The workshop includes a mix of lectures, case studies, role-playing, and hands-on activities using play therapy tools and techniques. Participants will engage in guided discussions and peer collaboration to explore their unique strengths as BIPOC clinicians and develop actionable strategies to enhance their practice. By the end of this workshop, participants will leave empowered to celebrate their cultural identities, promote equity and inclusion in their therapeutic work, and create meaningful change for BIPOC clients and communities.
